Project Background and Challenges


Founded in 1993, Mingmen is a wholly foreign-owned enterprise located in Qingxi Town, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, one of China's most beautiful towns. Currently, the company occupies 330,000 square meters and mainly develops, manufactures, and sells baby strollers, baby car seats, cribs, high chairs, etc. Through outstanding design and R&D technology and quality management capabilities, Mingmen has established its own brands, Nuna and Joie, which are loved by a wide range of consumers and have gained a foothold in the European and American markets. At the same time, for many years, it has continuously received OEM and ODM commissions from leading international brands, including American brand GRACO and Japanese brand APRICA, earning the recognition and trust of consumers and clients.

After decades of development, Mingmen has implemented ERP systems, PDM systems, and several self-developed digital systems, covering change process management, problem management, material management, BOM management, and mold management. However, all systems operate independently, forming information silos and hindering data retrieval and referencing. Users often need to find data in one system and then manually enter it into another, leading to frequent errors and reduced efficiency. This prevents the system from truly leveraging its advantages.


Solution


To break down these system barriers, senior management decided to implement a PLM system to manage all business processes related to product development, from requirements, R&D, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and delivery. (V) Effectiveness of Solution Promotion and Application.

After the system went live, it supported online operations for over 1000 users across both sides of the Taiwan Strait; it unified the data flow of the entire group's product lifecycle, unified the system management platform, and unified the business process. It avoided opaque operations outside the system, improved business efficiency and management level, and fulfilled the mission of digital transformation of enterprise R&D.
